My weekends in September

I wanted to post this up in October but I was carried away with work, and my free time are mostly filled with sleep. So I didn't bother much about updating what has been happening in my life.

Anyway, here's some photos of what happened on my weekends in September. I had wedding to attend every weekend! And some double wedding which I couldn't attend.

All of them are happily married now and I'm not sure if there are buns in their oven by now, but I wish them the best! ^_^

1st September: Fareha and Musira

6th September: Faezah & Fitri

14th September: Fardia and Arif

14th September: Farisa and Syahir

21st & 28th September: Firdany and Azzam

Weddings are so much fun to attend, especially when you can get together with old friends and family.

Well, another good news is I've passed my 7 months in O&G department. I am going to medical department next. Arghhhh! I hate going into new department. I really hate feeling stupid and doesn't know what to do. I really hate not knowing the system. I hope all will goes well for me. Wish me the best peeps! ^_^

Better Late Than Never: Dr Maimuna+Dr Irfan's Engagement

Heee.. I know it's very late to post up pics of  my engagement, but oh well, better late than never right? and I know you guys are actually waiting for it.

So, my engagement was almost 5 months ago. 13th April 2013. Had everything planned, although there was so many things happening right before the event.

One, the case where my engagement ring got stolen. Then my then-to-be fiancé's grandmother passed away few days before our engagement.  I thought of postponing our event, but his family said everything was already prepared, so we went on with it.

They gave me his grandmother's ring for our engagement. :'(
It's really sad. His grandmother was so excited to come to Kuantan, but I guess it was her time. Allah knows better.

Not to mentioned, I was SICK! Paediatrics really left me a gift, I was on night shift 2 days before my engagement and I fell sick. I was working with 38.5'C temperature and vomited the whole night. I had to asked my colleague from the other ward for blood taking because I was shivering. My fingers turned blue while I was doing my rounds and had chills. Luckily my MO was cool. I think I overdosed myself on Brufen that night. :p

So anyway, the event started after Maghrib. We also did Doa Selamat right before my event.

Here's some pic of the night.

The pelamin. Done by my mother.

The house all prep up

Yours truly. The dress bought in Variante Pavillion.
My face looks so "sembab" because I was sick and slept the whole day.

"I do"

 I'm engaged!

 My bestfriends!

 With his parents

My family, the people who made it happen. Without them it wouldn't be a success.

The hantaran. Mine was done by my auntie and cousin.

So there you have it. The people I have to thank most is my mom and my maklang. They're the ones who made the event a success. Also not to forget my cousins. Hopefully those who came had a blast! I know I did.

Missing that moment.

Extended

So I got extended another 3 months in Obstetrics and Gynaecology department because somehow my assessor thinks my knowledge is not good enough.

But in some little ways, I don't think I am ready to go to another department yet. I really don't mind staying here.

I find I enjoy delivering babies. First timers always made my eyes tear up, when they see their babies for the first time. It's like magic. Although complications can sometimes be very scary.

Anyway, here's my tip if you're planning to get pregnant or currently pregnant.

- Get an early antenatal check up. It doesn't matter if you're married or not. You can't hide that tummy. Just make our life easier will you? You're not only risking us, you're risking your life and your baby's life. What's the purpose of coming to the hospital if you've never had check ups? Might as well just give birth at home!

- Giving birth is super painful. Let me rephrase that, it's SUPER SUPER DUPER PAINFUL. You SHOULD ask for epidural. Can you imagine, even with epidural, you can still feel the pain. We used epidural for operations, when we cut people up and you won't feel the pain. But you will still feel pain during contractions, even with epidural. If epidural is not available, and we'll give you pethidine instead, please don't ask for more. Just relax and bare with the pain. Pain is good, means you're progressing.

- Don't scream around and scare other mommies. Everyone is in pain. Not just you. We KNOW it's painful and you should have been prepared for the pain.  Screaming doesn't help. It'll just get you tired. Breath in and breath out. That'll usually helps. Pethidine only given every 6 hourly, we don't want your baby to get overdose. You shouldn't want that too!

- If you're unsure that your water broke, just come to the hospital. Don't come 1 week later. You're risking infections to your baby. They're not always going to be gushing in nature and wet your whole sarong. Sometimes they'll be dribbling continuously.

-  EXERCISE while you're pregnant and eat healthy. Pushing your baby out requires all your muscle and lungs to work. You need to hold your breath and push! Giving birth needs more energy that running a marathon. I advice for swimming. I think it'll help your breathing while giving birth. Most patient that can't push because they can't hold their breath in.

- When we want to check you OS, OPEN WIDE! How the hell the baby is going to come out if you can't spread your legs. It's a baby for goodness sake! It's not small!

- Read pregnancy books. Please just be prepared.

Well, I think I have some more tips but I can't really think right now. If I happen to remember anything else, i'll sure to post them up..

Salam Ramadhan!

Alhamdulillah.. I get to spend another year fasting in the holy month and what a coincident, my off day fell on the first day of Ramadhan. So I get to go home, sahur and berbuka with my family! weee... Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah...

I hope this holy month will bring me peace and gets me closer to Allah swt. I hope I'll be more patient. Hopefully my bosses will be more calmer too!

The dos and don'ts in Ramadhan

Despite the guide of what to do and what not do to in Ramadhan, I don't think we should restrict our good deeds only in Ramadhan but instead enhance them. They should not stop once Ramadhan is over but to continue doing good things. This is a reminder for me too.

Anyway, I wish all my brothers and sisters in Islam to have a blessed Ramadhan. May this year brings more prosperity to you in this world and the hereafter. InsyaAllah.

Happy Ramadhan peeps! ^_^

Doctor, please help me.

What do you do when your patient in labour keeps complaining that she's in pain? When the husband keep finding you every half an hour to tell you that his wife is in pain.

Painkillers given by the way.

What do you do? What do you do?

What do people back in the old days do when there's no painkillers? No labour inducer? No C-Section?

"Doctor, help me, it's so painful"
And me "Madam, it's normal. You're giving birth. It's supposed to be painful. My vaginal examination won't make your opening open any faster."

I tell you. Giving birth is scary.

How clean can it be?

Everyone wants a clean and fair election.

I'm not so much into news nowadays since I start working. Not even into facebook so much anymore either. It's just that I don't have time since I started working to get up to date with all these things..

I didn't even register for voting even though I wanted to. I didn't know why I never had the initiative since I was 21 years old even though I told everyone I'll register. Now? A little to late for this year's election. huhu. InsyaAllah in the next 5 years. I'll vote, if I am still living.

Anyway, they say we're getting cheated, but then again who never gets cheated? Who never lies? Who never cheats? Who never steals? But I've lied before, just so I don't get into trouble, or to gain something. I've lied to the radiologist so that I can get an ultrasound appointment stat for my patient. I've lied so many times, that I've lost count. I've also been cheated, lied to and stolen from. Even from the people nearest  to me.

So if you want to blame the government for manipulating us and lying to us, ask yourself, have you never cheat, lie or steal before? If you say you've never done all those things, then good for you but how many of us are as good as that?

Everyone has their own agendas and from my point of view, everyone is just fucking selfish.

Nothing will change until we ourselves change our mentality. Nothing will change until we ourselves change to be a good and honest person. And if that never happens, we'll never have a clean elections.

HAPPY VOTING PEOPLE! ;)

Am not claiming I'm voting for PKR, but I must tell you, this balloon really creeps me out!!I can see it from my room window. It turns and turns, and it's like the eye is looking and watching you!!! Reminds me of Sauron from LOTR! Creeepyyyy! >.<"

Stolen ring

My engagement ring was stolen!

bB's house in Muar was broken into.. twice!! Most of his numimastic collection is gone along with my engagement ring..

I'm so sad..... :(
It took us months to find the perfect ring, and we had to wait another month for the ring to be done, because we had to order my finger size, plus the engraving. Now it's gone.

1 more week till my engagement day. I don't know what's bB's plan is. All I know is, I don't think we can get the same ring done again in 1 week time. Sigh.....

What an unfortunate day... :'(((((
I hope someone finds that motherf**ker who stole everything and cut him into pieces!!! I hope he'll get everything that he deserves! What an asshole. GRRRRRRRRRR.......
Can't we live in an honest environment? I'm so depressed...

I hope nothing bad will happen after this.. Please pray my ceremony will go smoothly..

Where is my heart?

I'm struggling to find back my passion towards medicine. I used to love it so much. I mean, I still love medicine, but when I am back from work, all I can about is sleep. Even when I am at work, all I can think about is sleep. I WANT SLEEP.

I am lacking in so many things. My supervisors don't think I'm improving. I don't know if I still have that confidence or strength to go on. I don't let my parents know about it, though.

I still wake up at 5 a.m, to be at work by 6 a.m. At times I get to work by 7 a.m because I overslept and I won't have time to review all my patients by 8.30 am, and I get scolded for not knowing my patient's progress or when I forgot to fill in their latest blood results or when I mixed up my patients. And they say "potong 1 jam gaji" because I woke up late. And they'll say "You know, during my time as a houseman I took care of 28 patients!" I understand that, and I am severely impressed by how they did it! Anyway, I never went back on time. I always end up staying 1 or 2 hours later anyway but I won't get that extra pay. They should know right? Even they don't always go back on time either.

By the time I got back, I never open my books. I don't have the mood, because all I want is SLEEP. My precious precious sleep. I want 12 hours of sleep.

The cycle goes on, and I get scolded for not knowing the pathology of a disease or the aetiology or the common symptoms. I get scolded because I never revised at home. Yes, 7 years of med school and I still can't remember what bacterias cause Pneumonia. heh. 5 months of holiday, I didn't even open any books. So, yeah.

I just don't know what will happen. Everyone said it'll get better, but will it really? With my current situation, no one says I'm improving, and I don't even have that feeling where I want to prove them wrong.....

Anyway, apart from my depression. We found the perfect engagement ring for me! Finally!!! Although, we have to order a new size which will take a month. My fingers are too small.. The ring is very simple, so don't expect anything fancy. heee.. =)

A Quater Of A Decade + 1 Year

So, my birthday was last week. It fell on the 16th of January (REMEMBER THIS DATE!)

I took a day off on that day. Because, I really don't want to be working on my birthday. Thank God the leave was approved! I have been spending 7 years of my birthday preparing for exam!

If it's not an exam day, the exam is probably the day after. I remember 2011's birthday, exam week, and I was super sick. bB came with his friends and surprised me. Most memorable birthday I must say.

This year, I didn't get to spend it with my family. Because it was a weekday. bB came down from Muar to celebrate the day with me.

He picked me up after I finished work, waited for me to get ready and he treated me with dinner at Tony Roma's. I have never been to Tony Roma's before, coz Kuantan doesn't have any Tony Roma's branches. So, the main specialty is the RIBS! I made a mistake of ordering a burger, while I know the ribs are the main attraction. bB ordered the Lamb Ribs. The burger wasn't that good though. HRC's burger is still the best. But the ribs, Oh My God! Seriously, one plate is not enough! They were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooooooooooooood!!!! Even their mash potatoes were EXCELLENT!

The drink was too sweet!

 My onion burger!

Fantastic ribs!

Talking about it, I feel like going there now!! Their price are a bit pricey, but it was all worth it. Yum, yum, yum...... =9

Enjoying the food! A friend said I look like an "aunty"!!
Few months ago, another friend said I look like a young mother.
Oh NO!!! Is it a hint I should be married now?

Me and my love

After we had finished, I saw bB talking with the waiters. It didn't click in my head that he was telling them that it's my birthday. Anyway, they came with a cake and a candle and sang "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" for me. Haha....

I got a free dessert! I don't have the picture with the cake. It's in bB's iPhone.. = (

Then, we spent the night hanging out at Tasik Titiwangsa before heading home. I was dead tired, plus the ribs was making me feel very sleepy.

The next day, we went out shopping and searching for an engagement ring. Couldn't find the ones we like yet. We found the ring for Nikah though, but decided to KIV for now. Maybe we'll find other rings that we like, since Nikah is still a long way to go. A bit disappointed that all the ones that I like is above our budget. So, we still have to find THE ring for the engagement.

And we spent the night watching Here Come The Boom at the cinema. Hehe...

I was working the next day. And I feel like telling the mommies, that their newborns has the same birthday as me! Too excited. I was not over about my birthday.

That night, I got to spend my last night with bB before he went back to Muar.

We went and watch another movie.

 Colourful water fountains in KLCC

Well, that was basically it. My 26th birthday.

Me at 26

Thank you bB for coming all the way up to KL! I really appreciate it!

It's been a while

Has it now?

Today marks the day I enter work for the 30th day. A month. Can't say I'm not improving, but I'm still very slow.

I know I have been neglecting my blog. But everyday, I get home, and all I wanna do is facebook and sleep. Some nights when I have the energy, I'd study. For a bout 1/2 hour before I decide to sleep. huhu..

I'll update soon (I hope). Especially about my birthday.

Till then peeps! <3 p="">
Oh! btw, getting engage in April. Date all set! Just wait for more updates! ^_^
