Tired, Exhausted and Drained... on NY's eve..

Hey peeps.. you guys know how I always reviewed my year's resolution and make new ones on New Year's Eve?

Well, yeah..
I think I might have to skip this year's.. I have been working for 2 weeks now.. from 6am to 10pm daily.. One day off (THANK GOD!)

I rarely see the sun.
You'd thought that only happens in Moscow. Nope, it still is happening to me now...

I even forgot how it is to feel hungry.

OH! Not to mention the screwing I got from all the Specialist and MOs... Made me feel like, what have I been doing 7 years in Med School. How is it possible that I am still this blur! Sigh..

I just hope, things will get better along the way..
I have to do an NRP test within this 2 weeks, or I'm guaranteed an extension in this Department!
But I think I am expecting that.. I just don't know how to manage my time yet, and I can't get used to sleeping less than 5 hours.... I kept oversleeping!

Anyway, my current home is near the hospital, and my bedroom view is KLCC. Gorgeous view! Very de-stressing..

Tonight is New Year's Eve, but I don't think I'll wait until midnight to see the fireworks. I currently feel like a ZOMBIE!!

Okay peeps.. till the next post!

Chapter 2: Working Life

This will be my last post as a student. As of 17th December, I am officially a government servant working under the Health Ministry.

Unfortunately, I didn't get posted to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan Kuantan. Somehow, all the housemen posts in Kuantan is all filled up. I got Hospital Selayang instead. No one from my induction batch got Kuantan. Nonetheless, I shall keep a positive mind and accept what Allah has planned for me.

I am leaving Kuantan today. Right now, I am still trying to sort things out and get the packing done.. Sigh..

I have memory of going back to Moscow. I hate packing....

Newly Upgraded Islamic Graveyard in Kuala Lumpur

My mom showed me this article yesterday in Utusan, but the article dated 30/11. They've upgraded the graveyard! They look really neat, clean and tidy. No more scary graveyards! No more bumping or sitting on other people's graves!

I hope graves in other states will also have an upgrade on the graveyards. It'll be such a convenience for visitors.

Wake Up Call!

Oh God! The letter finally arrived. After 4 months of a looooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnngggg holiday, I'm finally going to start working!

I'll know which hospital I'll be posted to on the first day of Induction, which is on the 11th of December according to the letter.

This means, I have less than a week left to do and prepare whatever I need and want before going to Kajang!

Suddenly I feel like I'm not so ready to work. But life has to move on, I can't live off my parents for the rest of my life and what a waste of my medical degree.. haha..

Anyway, WISH ME THE BEST OF LUCK, will you? =S

RapidKuantan Bus Route

RapidKuantan has started since Saturday (1st December 2012), and I saw that the responds were very good. The buses were full of people every time I drove pass them. I haven't had the courtesy of riding it yet, but my sister has!

It's really unfortunate that they didn't stop right in front of my house. She had to walk to Pantai Selamat to get on one, but it's not a big deal. It's only a 10 minute walk to Pantai Selamat from my house.

Anyway, if you're searching for the bus stops and route, here you go:

What Makes You Beautiful

Me: b... Awak ok tak dengan warna biru?

bB: Asalkan awak nampak cantik.. Saya tak kisah

Me: MANA BOLEH!!! Kene la dua-dua cantik!

bB: Oh.. ye ke? Tapi saya tak kisah...

Me: -_____-"

Do I go bold with the colour pastel blue, or should I play safe and go with pastel peach? I know I look good in both colours (okay, perasan jap), but I can't say if he'll look good in blue though... Never seen him wearing pastel blue before...

He just follows with whatever colour I choose. He doesn't even mind whatever colour I choose, as long as I'm happy...

But I can't be making all this decisions by myself! It's our ceremony.. Blue or Peach? Blue or Peach?

So... Peach or Blue? hrrmmm...

My Graduation Pictures

I know it's a little late, but better late than never right? Here are some photos taken during my Graduation Ceremony. :)

Our graduation was held in 2 places. We knew it is quite unorthodox to held graduation ceremony twice but most of us want our family to see us graduating, thus we organized the 2nd ceremony which was held in PICC, Putrajaya. And yes, we funded the ceremony in Malaysia by ourselves.

The ceremony in Moscow was held on the 26th of June and the one in Malaysia was on the 5th of August.

Enjoy the photos! :)

One Big Little Step

Oh! We can't decide on an engagement date!!!

He wants it to be January, but I'll be just starting work in January. He wants it to be done before he goes into Medical Department. Otherwise he said it'll be in 2014. But I think I need time to adapt myself to work and I don't think I can divide my time and energy between working and arranging an engagement ceremony!

I want it to be simple but even if I just invite family and close friends, you must know, my father has 16 siblings (from 4 mothers) and my mother has 9 siblings (from 1 mother). Count all the cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren and that just makes the ceremony far from simple, I think.

And you must know the Malays. You can't invite one person, without inviting the other person. Even if you don't fancy that one aunt. In the end, I'm sure my mother will spread the words around anyway...

Plus, I can't just let my mother do all the preparations! I want to be in it too since it's my ceremony too!

What if I'm still tagging at that time or what if I got Medical or Surgical or Obstetrics Department as my first post?! Wouldn't that be difficult for me too? I mean, he's already adapt to work almost a year now, and I am just starting. I am afraid that stress will get to me, and the ceremony will be a disaster because I easily breakdown if things don't go my way...

Oh, this is so stressful.... and this is just thinking about the date! Not yet the actual planning!

Kursus Pra-Perkahwinan di Kuantan

*Jika perlukan post ini di dalam Bahasa Melayu, sila berikan komen, saya akan cuba buat post baru dalam BM, cheers!*

I had the courtesy of attending a Pre-marital course last weekend at Masjid Sultan Ahmad Shah. Translated in Malay, Pre-marital course means Kursus Pra-Perkahwinan or in short, kursus kahwin.

Every Muslim in Malaysia needs to attend this course in order to get married. If you didn't attend one or if you failed to produce a certificate that you've attended one during your "i do" day, the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) would not proceed with the ceremony. In short, you won't get the permission to be married.

It's just basically a 2-day course (from 8am to 5pm) consists of listening to lectures. Some of the lectures are good, some are quite boring, but all of them are very informative. It depends on the lecturer. Anyway,I thought it was a very good reminder, since as a human we tend to forget. Most of the topics we already learned in school, but I have to admit, I've forgotten some of them.

I didn't go with bB, since he still doesn't feel like going, yet. In the end, I went with my friends. But I think it is better to go with your friends, otherwise it'll be quite boring, because you'll be separated from your boyfriend/fiance.

Okay, I'm writing this posts so that you guys will know how and where to attend one in Kuantan. Because when I was searching for it on Google, I couldn't even find one decent info on the course held in Kuantan. Most of the blog or web are about the ones held in KL. Even the JAIP site couldn't give enough information. In the end, I posted a question on FB, and it was answered by my friends.

So, if you have any desire of attending Pre-marital course in Kuantan, the first thing you have to do is
  1. Get the FORM.
How to get THE FORM? Just go to Pejabat Agama Islam Daerah Kuantan. The building has a sign "Pejabat Daerah & Tanah Kuantan". Don't ask me why Islamic Department building has a State Department sign. Seems some of my friends told me that they just switched building, but I still have no idea why they didn't have the courtesy to change the sign. Seriously.

Where is Pejabat Agama Islam Daerah Kuantan? It's located between Shahzan Inn and The State Mosque (Sultan Ahmad Shah Mosque), just behind the Kuantan Art Museum. You will see an orange building with the sign "Pejabat Daerah & Tanah Kuantan".

If you intend on using the Google Map or GPS, please write Pejabat Daerah & Tanah Kuantan. They didn't update their address yet either.

When you're there, remember, YOU HAVE TO COVER YOUR AURAT in order to enter the office. Once you're inside, just go to any counter and ask for the form. Sometimes they will just put the forms inside a basket. Just look for the sign "BORANG KURSUS KAHWIN"
  2. FILL IN the form
Well, this is pretty basic. I think you'd be able to fill in the form without any problem. Just remember, you will need to provide a copy of your IC.

  3. SUBMIT the form
Submit the form along with the RM 80 fee. Yup, there's a fee, and it's RM80 for one course, but there will be only one course for the rest of your life. You don't need to attend anymore course if you got divorced and want to get married again or if you intend of having more than 1 wife. One course, one certificate lasts for a lifetime.
Pretty easy right?

Once you've submitted your form, they will print a receipt for you and give you the date of the course. Please check your name properly on the receipt, because you don't want them to wrongly print your name on the certificate.

When we asked the lady at the counter where the course was held, she said  "It's here". Please make sure to call the office and ask again where the course is held, or you'll be like us, wandering around the office, wondering why the place was close and empty. In the end, we were late, and found out that the course was at The State Mosque after asking the guard.

When entering The State Mosque, just look for the sign "BILIK SEMINAR". It is held there. :)

REMEMBER, you will need to dress in modesty. Baju kurung/jubah and make sure you cover your hair. ;) If you're a guy, it doesn't matter as long as it's modest.

Okay, hope this will help you guys!

If  you have any further questions about this, you can call Pejabat Agama Islam Daerah Kuantan at 09-5161154.

One step closer, I supposed? :">

Wandering in Manchester, UK

We arrived in Piccadilly Railway Station few minutes after midnight. Ummi came with her housemate Zareen to pick us up. Ummi is a friend of my blogger friend Ann Farah. Personally, I've never met Ann before, we're just friends through our blogs and Facebook.

I didn't know who else to contact for a night's stay in Manchester because most of my friends already graduated and back home. After a serious of thoughts, Ann pops up into my head! Thank Allah for her! She introduced me to Ummi and she agreed to give me and my bro a night to stay at her place. Alhamdulillah... :))

I was hoping to meet Ann in UK, but unfortunately with her busy schedule (since she's a medical student as well, I totally understood), she couldn't make it to neither London nor Manchester from Cardiff. InsyaAllah, jodoh mungkin hari lain ye Ann! :)

Manchester was super duper cold the night we arrived! I was actually shivering and my teeth chattered!! Plus the rain doesn't make it better either.

We got onto the Magic Bus, bought day rider pass which costs £3.90 each. It's unlimited until the next day 4  a.m. Ummi's house wasn't that far from the centre. It was easy to get around.

Ummi and her housemate made us feel very comfortable and very welcome. :)

We were so tired from the trip, after shower, we fell asleep immediately.

We woke up around 10 AM. Ummi and Mimi went out very early in the morning to fetch new students from the airport to help them settle in their new place. So Zareen were the only person left at home.

We got ready and had breakfast which they already made for us. Awwww... While having our breakfast, Ummi and Mimi came back. So we chatted a little, to get to know each other. They asked us where we're planning to go, we just told them we wanted to check out the Old Trafford.

So they told us which bus to take to get to Old Trafford. It was pretty easy to get there. You can't really miss the big Stadium! The bus stops right in front of the Stadium.

So, we registered ourselves and bought the tickets for the tour.

This is the only Stadium Tour that I've been to that had tour guides. Although, I find it very time limited with tour guides because they won't really wait for you. Once, we actually got stuck in between doors because we were too busy taking pictures. =P But the tour was still awesome! ;))

So then after the tours, we did some shopping, and spent more time in the Museum until they closes.

Man thought of visiting the Manchester City Stadium, but when we arrived at Piccadilly Square, it was already 7 PM and getting darker. So we end up shopping at Primark (because the price there was insanely CHEAP!) and around Market Street. It sad that the stores closes at 8 PM though. We didn't have much time to shop. Then we went to Exchange Square to check out their Hard Rock Cafe.

We got back by 9 PM, and Ummi was already calling us because she got worried. Awwww..

Then we had a little nap before heading to the airport at 3:40 AM, since our flight back to Amsterdam will be at 7 AM.

Anyway, enjoy some photos taken in Manchester!

Off to Amsterdam

On the way to Amsterdam via Easyjet

We're back in Amsterdam! We had almost 12 hours in Amsterdam that we decided to take another stroll around the town.

We were dead bored this time because we didn't know what to do exactly and plus we were almost broke at this point.

In the end, we decided to just walk around, eat breakfast and lunch, and took the river cruise. Seriously, we didn't know what else to do. The river cruise was so relaxing that both of us end up sleeping instead of sightseeing! LOL!

By 6 PM, we made our way back to the airport. Checked in, and board our flight back to Malaysia at 9 PM. Goodbye UK, goodbye Europe! Hello Malaysia!

It was a good trip indeed. Bro was a really good companion, seriously! He didn't even complain about anything and not one fight broke during this trip! Unlike the trips I had with bB, bro just follow along anything I say or where I want to go. Seriously. He is the best! ;))

Colourful condoms, I have to say.

Sadly, it was closed. Open only at 5PM. =(

Look at the price!!! €17.50 for a plate of Nasi Lemak?!!! CRAAAAAYYYZYYYYYY!!

Opt for a €7 pizza instead... ;)

Bro with the lovely KLM stewardesses at KLIA

We arrived KLIA the next morning. KLM was great. Thank God all their dishes had choices of fish or vegetarian since I didn't realised we were flying with KLM on the way back and was too late to request for halal meals.

Anyway, we had a good trip indeed. I guess, this will be the last trip before work starts, and it's coming soon. Finally, I get my good rest at home, interview passed and now, I'm just waiting for the letters to arrive home.

To tell you the truth, I am very very scared to start work and I'm sure once I start working, travelling will be less. But I still hope I would still have time to update my blog.

Till the next posts guys! :)
