Dreamflash 2012

On Sunday was Dreamflash. It's an annual bubble festival right in the centre of Moscow to celebrate to coming of Spring! All you have to do is wear a costume (or not) but you have to bring a bubble kit! I went as an angel this year.

I didn't go to last year's Dreamflash because it was gloomy and rainy. Although, those who went said it was still fun. I went to 2010's Dreamflash. You can read about it or look at the pictures HERE!

So anyway, we head to the centre at about 2PM. Reached Old Arbat Street at 3PM and we were immediately pulled into the crowd. I swear, this year's crowd was a lot more than when I went 2 years ago. We couldn't really move. It was so crowded! I didn't remember getting stuck in the middle of the street 2 years ago.

But we still had a lot of fun!

 Hugs!!!

Circle Of Light Festival 2011

I absolutely forgot to update about the Circle of Light Festival, which was held from 21st October 2011 to 23rd October 2011 at Red Square and Gorky Park.

I found out about it by accident, because we were supposed to have a batch photoshoot at Moscow State University and Red Square on Saturday, but the photographers(the almost professionals one, they're my batchmates as well. Not the hired one) asked if there were any event going on in Red Square that we might interfere with. So I was googling around and found out about the event.

The photographers wen't straight after our batch photoshoot. They invited me to come along, but I was too tired and cold. So I didn't go along.

It was until they posted it on their facebook the pictures they took that night was I really regretting it. It was so beautiful!!! And I was asking around if anyone wants to come along with me.

In the end, I tagged along Tita, Aznira, Iqa, Elyn, Dalila, Syafiqah and Afif. We went the next day. hehe..

It was a fun night in deed! Something different with different set of people. They were really outgoing and awesome.

The whole Red Square is set up with lights and surround sound systems. It almost felt like an Alien Spaceship is coming down to land, invade or abduct us!!! >___<

But some of the songs they played, were so romantic, I felt sad that bB wasn't there. There were a lot of couples kissing under the night sky, full of light and music. Argh! I'm jealous! >__<

Anyway, I had a really fun night. Too bad I missed the Closing Ceremony at Gorky Park. We were lazy to walk to 2 places in one night. My friend said, it was the most spectacular fireworks they had ever seen! They synchronized the fireworks with the music. I can imagine how awesome it must've be. I really hope they'll be more awesome events like this in Moscow. I'm really sad to say this is my final year. Here's some photo.

Us, with some friends with MSMU. I looked like I had the time of my life! ;D
(My friend's awesome photographic skills)

More photos and videos in my facebook!

and here's more photo on the Opening Ceremony (which I also missed) and Closing Ceremony.

Here's a video of the event I found from their website. This is the opening ceremony. The day I went it was almost the same as this. The only difference was there was no one dancing on the stage and there were full of people in the Square. Enjoy! :)

Happy Women's Day

It's a public holiday today in Russia, and all the women are carrying flowers. I wonder why back home, we only get flowers or gifts only on Valentines Day and Birthdays. Is a day to celebrate women is not as important?

We had a little celebration too. Had lunch at the newly opened Chili's in Novy Arbat with bB and his groupmates. Not bad I must say, quite a lot of vegetarian and seafood choices for us Muslims. =) I didn't take any photos though. Being a silly goose as always, I brought my camera but forgot to put back the memory card in after I transfered yesterday's photo. Have to wait for Dinie to upload the pics on facebook.

Well, gotta get to my studies now. Tomorrow class starts. sigh. 3 day weekend is not enough. Holiday is never enough. ;P

oh! I cut my hair last friday and I love it! heehee..

HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY TO ALL THE WOMEN IN THE WORLD!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Forget the pretty flowers that will wilt, forget the delicate trinkets that may get lost, forget the exaltations that probably fall on deaf ears. Instead, make every mother's effort to raise their child worthwhile; make them proud to be your mother. - Sasha Zuleika

Dreamflash 2010

I actually wanted to write this post last week, but I was so busy with my Therapy Cycle and the Case Presentation that I didn't have any time to update my blog..
Well, I passed my presentation which makes me very happy! :D

So anyway, last Sunday, 11th April, I went to Dreamflash Festival.. It's in Arbatskaya.. The news didn't spread that much.. Eugene found out by Vkontakte.ru and some of my other friends found out from Moscow Times paper.. but a lot of them still didn't know about this festival, although it's been held annually..

So we left the hostel around 12:30 p.m. board the metro from Kon'kovo, straight to metro Smolenskaya.. There were 4 of us; Me, Juan, Eugene, and Ann. but later was join with Liyana, Sveta, Hsu Yin, Alex and Tanya.. and then later Ann left us and went with another group, so its 8 of us.. ;D bB back out in the last minute because he was tired.. :( but I don't want to miss this opportunity even though I was in the middle of my Therapy Cycle.. *wink*

We arrived around 1:40 p.m. and we waited in front of McD for Eugene's friends to come..

The Festival starts at 2:30 p.m, so when we arrived, there were other people just arrived as well.. it wasn't that crowded...

When the clock strikes 2:30, suddenly crowds of people just came swarming in.. It was sort of a parade, with people in costumes and their bubble kit..and well, there's no way for you to actually go against the flow.. It was loud with everyone blowing their bubbles.. screaming and laughing... The whole Arbat Street is congested with people.. and the cars are having a hard time trying to get through.. LOL! and I actually got separated with the others.. *sigh* such a bad memory..

Nonetheless, after trying calling them several times, I got through and found them.. phew.. and we continue taking pictures, blowing bubbles, giving & getting free hugs and free kisses (of course I didn't hug any russian guys because like takot kot!.. ;P but the boys were pretty excited getting those hugs and kisses from the girls.. ;DD)

Later, we went to Udonyasan for lunch.. yum!

Well, thats basically it.. here's some pics and you can view more on Facebook! enjoy!

take a deep breath and BLOW! ;D
